Melissa Urofsky is a recent Jeremy Ranch homeowner, moving to the top of Daybreaker Drive in May of 2022. My husband Philip and I are thrilled to be part of this community and intend to be permanent residents in the near future! At the moment, our primary resident is in Bethesda, MD – a close suburb of Washington, DC.
We bought our first Park City vacation home in Canyons Village back in 2017 where I was a board member of Fairway Springs HOA from 2021-2022. At Fairway Springs, I successfully promoted annual cleaning of homeowner’s dryer ducts to prevent fires, I was responsible to find a replacement for our current HOA manager, and I reviewed our latest Reserves Report and actively advocated with other board members to bring the reserves up to a responsible level.
I was born on Long Island, NY, moved to London in 1967 and then Brussels in 1977, and settled in Boston, MA in 1980. I graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 1987 with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering. After working at Liberty Mutual’s Headquarters in Boston, I decided to join my mother’s antique jewelry and art business in Georgetown – Washington, D.C. where we worked together as partners for 17 years. I earned my Graduate Gemologist (G.G.) from the Gemology Institute of America in 2018.
In 2005, I decided to stay home with our kids since my husband traveled extensively. For the remainder of my career, I pursued various volunteer opportunities:
ES Science Fair Co-Chair
Annual fundraising concert
PTA Secretary for Westland MS
Habitat for Humanity – Chosen as Crew Leader
Washington Area Women’s Foundation
A Wider Circle
American Jewish Committee (AJC) – Board Member
College Tracks
League of Women Voters Montgomery County, MD
– Board Member – 3rd VP
– Membership Chair
– Making Democracy Work (MDW) Chair
I now look forward to meeting my new neighbors and contributing to our community. My husband and I love art, concerts, reading, hiking, biking, skiing, golf, socializing and doggies!
Melissa was elected to the Board of Directors through acclamation for the 2023 to 2025 term.
